Much of the recent dog owner chatter in the LoDo area currently surrounds the creation of a new off-leash dog park.  The supposed "Railyard Dog Park" will occupy a slightly-less-than-one-acre triangle of the land at 19th Street and the railroad tracks, just north of the Manhattan.  

According to the Railyard Dog Park blog, "construction is moving along.  The concrete curb which defines the play area is now complete and all of the light poles are set and installed.  The play sand is spread out and is in the process of final leveling and the pavilion area and donor brick area has been formed and poured.  The concrete foundations for the benches and pee posts were scheduled to be poured early this month."

Just recently, I received an $80 fine for walking Briggs off-leash in the nearby park, so this amenity will be a great addition for residents of the Riverfront Park neighborhood.
